ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001:2007 are the internationally recognised standards respectively for an organisation’s internal Quality Management System, Environmental Management and Health and Safety Management and Just for good measure we are Safe Contractor Certified also.

All our Accreditations/Certifications are both internally and externally audited each year and Checked Weekly by Our Operations Manager.

The ISO 14001 Environmental Management System

This policy covers our dedication and desire to achieve. Optima shares the concerns of all responsible people for the environment in which we live. In all of our activities, we try to be environmentally responsible. Successive governments have advocated that recycling is critical to the task of making our waste management processes more environmentally acceptable and forthcoming legislation will substantially increase the role of recycling in our economy.

It is our aim to be compliant at all times with current regulations and legislation in environmental matters. Optima Endeavour’s to recycle as much as possible of the products and by-products of its activities including food waste, cooking oils, packaging and other waste generated in the course of business.

We endeavour to keep packaging to a minimum and to remove unnecessary packaging where possible. Optima uses well-maintained low CO2 efficient vehicles and aims to plan all of our journeys so that they reduce travelling to a minimum.

The aim is to reduce carbon emissions to a minimum. We strive to reduce our use of energy wherever possible, switching off and lowering ovens, grills, fryers and all electrical equipment that we use in order to carry out our work. We work closely with every client in order to ensure that we profit from any client re-cycling initiatives and facilities working as a team.

Equally, environmental impact and sustainability are two of the criteria that we use in choosing our suppliers. We seek to work with suppliers who share our care for the environment and who foster sustainable production methods, local sourcing, Fairtrade and so on.

Optima will set measurable targets and objectives to improve environmental performance ensuring its commitment to pollution prevention and continual improvement of the Environmental Management System.

Employee Liability £10m

Optima is the only contract catering company with ten million pounds of employee liability. We take health and safety extremely importantly and want our employees to feel safe in their working environment.  This is our committee to them and you that we care about the well-being of our workforce.

TUPE

TheTUPE Regulations ensures than an employees terms and conditions are preserved when any part of a business is transferred to a new employer. Any provision of any agreement (whether a contract of employment or not) is void so far as it would exclude or limit the rights granted under the Regulations. Optima adhere fully to the TUPE regulations so your existing staff do not have to worry.

Food Hygiene Rating

We currently hold a food hygiene rating of 5 which is the highest awarded. We are very proud of our staff for achieving this.
